Blackrod play area to get revamp

Families in Blackrod are to get an unexpected boost as Vicarage Road play area has been ear-marked for a £100,000 refurbishment.

Vicarage Road play area is in dire need of repair as the play surface is currently cracked and many of the facilities are worn out and need replacing. The play area was ear-marked for funding which was axed by the incoming Coalition government in 2010.

Bolton Tourism to be based on – “Fish & Chips, Football and Fred”

Tourism leaders and coach operators have travelled around the area visiting our local attractions. Their final destination was a three day conference at The Last Drop Village.

The aim is to boost the local economy by encouraging a greater number visitors to attractions, hotels and restaurants in the area. Over 40 travel companies were represented at the conference.
